IAFF L3270, Saskatoon Ambulance Employees Association received its Charter from IAFF International in 1989. Local 3270 represents, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Mechanics and Ambulance Technicians. Our members are proud to serve Saskatoon and the surrounding area with unlimited EMS access. Our members proudly serve alongside the Saskatoon Police Service and Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services in providing high calibre Emergency Services to Saskatoon and area residents. Local 3270, in cooperation with our employer M.D Ambulance Care Ltd. ensures a safe and efficient workplace.
Since 1989 Local 3270 has seen it membership increase to 100+ members due to increased demand for EMS in Air Ambulance, industrial sites and hospitals. Local 3270 recognizes it’s not enough to be a spectator to injury and illness and our role also includes being advocates for public safety and injury prevention.
Local 3270 members are supporters of various charities and these are posted on our website with links to the charity’s website if website visitors would like support the charity as well.
The Executive of Local 3270 has been a strong advocate for better wages and working conditions for all Saskatchewan Paramedics and has made presentations to the Saskatchewan Government on this subject and can claim some success as wages have increased across Saskatchewan since our Local’s advocacy.
Our goal is to provide a strong voice for our members in discussions with M.D. Ambulance Care Ltd., the Health Region, the City, the Province of Saskatchewan, the Government of Canada and fellow Emergency Services colleagues.
